For many Americans, the Trump presidency has felt like one crisis after another. From the Russia scandal, to Obamacare repeal, to Puerto Rico there seems to be no end in sight. However, Resistbotters aren’t sitting idle. They’re making their voices heard.

Resistbot launched on March 8th, 2017 to enable U.S. citizens to contact their elected officials via SMS texting. Through the end of September, our users have sent 2.1 million messages. We analyzed messages (anonymized to protect user privacy) sent between March 16th and September 30th, 2017, organized them by topic, and visualized how frequently they appeared over the past few months.

As we’ve noted before, nearly half of all Resistbot messages are related to healthcare. The AHCA passing the house in May, the rise and fall of BCRA in June and July, and the Graham-Cassidy bill in September each resulted in near-record highs for volume of Resistbot messages sent to Congress.

In the near future, we hope to analyze how Resistbotters are responding to many of the topics listed above in greater detail. In the meantime, click here or text RESIST to 50409 to make your voice heard.
